MBA Entrepreneurial Venture Award finalists: Shrenik Parmar

With the AMBA & BGA awards fast approaching, we’re featuring profiles of the MBA students and graduates who have been shortlisted for the coveted awards. Today we meet Shrenik Paras Parmar, Founder of Proodle Solutions and an MBA graduate from Nottingham University Business School, who has been shortlisted for MBA Entrepreneurial Venture (Private Sector)

Shrenik Paras Parmar is a start-up entrepreneur and Founder of Proodle Solutions Limited situated in Nottingham. He has more than eight years of experience in bringing software and SAAS products to market and is a recognised leader in the entrepreneurial community.

Shrenik has held senior managerial positions, leading compliance teams at IT organisations, and led the sales and marketing team at his family-owned textile company, throughout 2010-2015. He holds a BS in Computer Science (2010) from MSRIT, India, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship (2016) from the University of Nottingham, UK.

For his commitment towards building a sustainable future and reduce carbon emissions has gained support from the University of Nottingham, who have signed an MoU to support him. Shrenik has won several awards in the UK and China during 2018 and 2019, winning a total of £18,500 for Proodle Solutions and also got featured in press releases, blogs and articles by Global Education Times, PIENews, D2N2GrowthHub and the University of Nottingham about our journey and progress.

In addition, Shrenik holds the position of Brand Ambassador at the Nottingham University’s Ingenuity Lab, frequently provides guest lectures on entrepreneurship and opportunity-recognition to university students in the UK and India, and has shared his journey in building an innovative business. Shrenik has recently joined the commonwealth planning steering group to celebrate its 70th anniversary as a result of his connections with Sir John Peace, Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire.

Have you always aspired to be an entrepreneur?

I have always wanted to create something that changed the world. After working almost four years for a multinational IT company, I joined our family-owned textile business with a dream of starting my own business. I soon realised that I had lacked the knowledge and skillsets to develop new business and hence pursed MBA – Entrepreneurship at the University of Nottingham.

Having gone through the international student enrolment process, I struggled throughout my enrolment journey and had a daunting experience. Problems included a lack of finding information relevant to me, poor communication from agents and recruitment teams, and absence of peer to peer engagement before making an informed decision.

I interacted with international students from 21 different nationalities and with the university’s international office to validate this problem statement and analysed that ‘lack of digital mobile presence hindered an institution and its prospective students from establishing a meaningful connection when interest is at its peak’. After graduating in 2016, I saw an opportunity to enhance the engagement and enrolment experience, and that’s what inspired me to build Proodle Solutions Limited.

If you were to win this award, how would that make a difference to you and your organisation?

We are at an exciting phase in the business, where we are simultaneously working on raising seed capital from investment communities and preparing ourselves for beta trial launch with a Russell Group Institution in the UK. Winning this award will not only allow us to achieve these goals but also connect with industry panel experts, network with global entrepreneurs and present our innovation at a stage that is recognised all over the world.
